Araştırmanın amacı, Ankara ilinde yaşayan 187 bayan, 57 erkek toplam 244 yetişkinin akılcı olmayan düşüncelerini cinsiyet, yaş, medeni durum, eğitim düzeyi, iş durumu ve sosyal güvenliğin olup olmaması açısından karşılaştırmaktır. Veriler 1999 yılında Bilişsel Çarpıtma Ölçeği-R ve Kişisel Bilgi Formu aracılığıyla toplanmiştır Analizlerde bağımsız gruplar için uygulanan t testi, varyans analizi ve tukey testi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular literatür ışığında tartışılmış ve bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

The main purpose of this study is to examine the irrational thoughts of 244 adults (187 women and 57 men) living in Ankara according to gender, age, marital status, educational level, job and social security. Data were collected through Cognitive Distortion Scale-R and Personal Information Form. In the analysis, t test which was used for independent groups, variance analysis and Tukey test were used. The findings of the research were discussed in the light of the literatüre, and some suggestions were made.
