Bu çalışmanın amacı, çocuk ve ergenlerin akran ilişkilerinde görülen zorbalık davranışlarını araştırmak için geliştirilen Akran Zorbalığı Ölçeği’nin yapı geçerliğini ve güvenirliğini sınamaktır. Yazında yer alan ölçekler ile Türk öğrencilerinin akran ilişkilerindeki yaşantıları dikkate alınarak hazırlanmış olan 45 maddelik ölçek, pilot çalışma ile 433 altıncı sınıf öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular ölçeğin, 3 faktörlü yapısını desteklemiştir. Bu faktörler kurban, zorba ve genel ilgi alanlarını içeren ifadelerden oluşması nedeni ile dolgu olarak adlandırılan alt ölçeklerdir. Pilot çalışma bulgularında herhangi bir faktöre yüklenmeyen üç madde tekrar incelenerek madde ifadeleri değiştirilmiştir. Ayrıca beklenilen faktör altına yüklenmeyen iki madde ile bazı diğer maddeler de tekrar incelenerek düzenlenmiştir. Pilot çalışma bulguları ile tekrar yapılandırılan 45 maddelik Akran Zorbalığı Ölçeği’nin yapı geçerliliği ve iç güvenirliği, 506 katılımcıdan oluşan farklı bir altıncı sınıf örneklemi ile ana çalışma da tekrar analiz edilmiştir. Bu aşamada uygulanan temel bileşenler faktör analizi ile elde edilen bulgular 3 faktörlü (zorba, kurban, dolgu) yapıyı desteklemiştir. Fakat zorba alt ölçeğinde yüklenmesi beklenen bir madde negatif yükle dolgu alt ölçeğine yüklenmiştir. Bu bulgu, madde de betimlenen zorbalık davranışı açısından tartışılmıştır. Diğer maddeler ana çalışma bulgularında beklenilen alt ölçekler altında yerini almıştır. Alt ölçeklerin Cronbach alfa güvenirlik katsayıları zorba, kurban ve dolgu için sırasıyla .83, .86, ve .70’dir. Zorba ve kurban alt ölçekleri arasında beklenildiği gibi bir ilişki bulunmuş ve korelasyon katsayısı .41’dir. Ana çalışma örnekleminde zorbalık oranları ve cinsiyete göre farklar da hesaplanmıştır. Bulgular çalışmanın sınırlılıkları ve yazın çerçevesinde tartışılmıştır.

The aim of this study includes the investigation of the factor structures and reliability of the Bully Scale which is developed to examine bullying behaviours of children and adolescents. The 45 item scale, which were constructed by reviewing the scales in the literature and considering the experience of Turkish students in their peer relationships, were administered to 433 sixth grade students in the pilot study. The result of the analysis verifi ed the three factor structure of the scale. The factors are called as victim, bully and buffer subscales. The last one includes general interests of children. The three items which were not loaded on any factor were reconsidered and the sentence structures of these items were modifi ed. Additionally, two items that were not loaded on the expected factor and some other items were also reconsidered and modifi ed. The construct validity and reliability of the reconstructed Bully Scale’s 45 items were analyzed with 506 different sixth grade students in the main study. The results obtained by the principle component factor analysis also verifi ed the 3 factors of the scale. However, an item which was assumed to belong to the bully subscale was loaded negatively on the buffer subscale. This result was discussed in terms of the description of bully behaviour in the item. The other items were loaded on the expected factors. The coeffi cient alphas for bully, victim and buffer subscales were .83, .86 and .70 respectively. As expected, there is a positive correlation between bully and victim subscales with .41 coeffi cients. The percentages of bullying and gender differences in the percentages were computed for the sample of the main study. The results were discussed in terms of the literature and the limitations of the study.
