Bu makalede temel değerleri ölçmek için geliştirilen Portre Değerler Anketi (PDA; Schwartz ve ark., 2001) tanıtılmaktadır. Literatürde baskın olan iki değer kuramı ve ölçüm yöntemleri özetlendikten sonra, PDA’nın geliştirilme süreci ayrıntılandırılmıştır. Devamında, PDA’nın Türkçe uyarlamasını yapmak amacıyla bir Türk üniversite örnekleminde yürütülen araştırma sunulmuştur. Bulgular PDA’nın iç tutarlık ve zaman içinde tutarlık bakımından güvenilir bir ölçüm aracı olduğunu göstermiştir. En Küçük Uzay Analizi ile PDA’nın yapı geçerliği sınanmıştır. Kadınların ve erkeklerin değer yönelimleri de incelenmiş ve değer yönelimlerinin farklı olmaktan çok benzer oldukları bulunmuştur. Genel olarak, PDA’nın Türk örneklemi üzerinde kuramsal modele uygun yapı gösterdiği saptanmış ve olası farklılıklar tartışılmıştır. Bu çalışma PDA’nın Türkçe uyarlamasının ileriki çalışmalarda kullanılabilecek düzeyde psikometrik yeterliğe sahip olduğunu göstermiştir

In the present paper, Portrait Values Questionnaire (PVQ; Schwartz et al., 2001) as a measurement tool for assessing basic values was introduced. Following a brief review on two dominant value theories and their measurement methods in the literature, the development process of the PVQ was detailed. Then, an empirical study which was conducted in a Turkish university sample for purposes of Turkish adaptation of the PVQ was presented. Reliability analyses revealed that the PVQ was internally and temporally consistent. Smallest Space Analysis has provided evidence for the construct validity of the PVQ. Value priorities of men and women were also investigated and found to be more similar than they were different. Few but expectable deviations from the theoretical model were discussed. Overall, the present study establishes grounds for the further use of the PVQ in Turkish samples.
