Bu çalışmanın amacı, Lefebvre (1981) tarafından geliştirilmiş olan Bilişsel Hatalar Ölçeği’nin (BHÖ) geçerlik ve güvenirliğini saptamaktır. Araştırmanın örneklemi, 453 normal ve DSM IV’ e göre majör depresyon tanısı alan 42 kişiden oluşmuştur. Bu örneklem grubuna Bilişsel Hatalar Ölçeği, Beck Depresyon Ölçeği ve Otomatik Düşünceler Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Analizler, depresyon şiddeti ile bilişsel hatalar ve otomatik düşünceler arasında doğru orantılı bir ilişkinin varlığını göstermiştir. Normal grupla depresyon grubunun BHÖ puanları arasında anlamlı bir farkın olduğu bulguları doğrultusunda, ölçeğin bu iki grubu birbirinden ayırt edebildiği gösterilmiştir. Ayrıca, BHÖ’nün iç tutarlık katsayısının ve test-tekrar test güvenirliğinin yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, Bilişsel Hatalar Ölçeği’nin depresyondaki bilişsel hataları değerlendirmede kullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek olduğu söylenebilir.

The purpose of the current study was to investigate the validity and reliability of Lefebvre’s (1981) Cognitive Errors Questionnaire (CEQ). The sample consisted of 453 people with no behavioral disorder and 42 patients who were diagnosed as major depression (DSM IV). The Cognitive Errors Questionnaire (CEQ), The Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and The Automatic Thoughts Questionnaire (ATQ) were administered to the sample. The analyses revealed a positive correlation between the BDI, CEQ, and ATQ scores. There was a significant difference in the CEQ scores between the normal and the depression groups, suggesting that CEQ discriminates well between the two groups. In addition, the internal consistency coefficient (Cronbach alpha) and the test retest reliability of the CEQ were high. Overall, it can be concluded that the Cognitive Errors Questionnaire is a reliable and valid instrument to measure cognitive errors in depression.
