Kariyere ve ev kadınlığına yönelen kız meslek lisesi öğrencilerinin benlik kavramları arasında SED (Sosyo - Ekonomik Düzey) ve branş değişkenine göre fark olup olmadığı incelenmiştir. Benlik kavramı düzeyini ölçmek için Offer Öz - İmaj Envanteri kullanılmış ve elde edilen veriler 2x2’lik varyans analizi tekniği ile çözümlenmiştir. Bulgular, kariyere yönelen öğrencilerin ev kadınlığına yönelenlerden daha olumlu benlik kavramına sahip olduğunu göstermiştir. Gözlenen farkın da SED ve branş değişkeninden bağımsız olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç olarak çevresel etmenlerden oldukça bağımsız olarak kendini ortaya koyabilecek özelliklere sahip olan kızların kariyere yöneldikleri ve topluma daha aktif bir biçimde katılmak istedikleri söylenebilir.

It has been investigated to find out if there is any difference of the self concepts of the Students of Girls Vocational School regarding their tendencies to have a career or to be a house wife depending on their socioeconomic status and on their majors in the school. The self concepts levels has been evaluated with Offer's Self Image Inventory and 2x2 Multiple Variance Analysis technique is used. The findings showed that those who had tendency for a career had better self concept than those who had tendency for being a house wife. Observed difference is independent of socioeconomic status and major variables. It can be said that those who were independent of environmental factors had a tendency to have a career and willing to participate to the society more actively.
