Bu çalışmada intihar girişiminde bulunan kadınların duygularını başkalarına açma davranışları araştırılmıştır. ESPS (Emotional Self Disclosure Scale-Duygularını Açma Ölçeği) kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada, a) intihar girişimli grup (İ.G.) (n=33), b) Psikiyatrik grup (P.G.) (n=33) ve c) normal grup (N.G.) (n=33) olmak üzere öç farklı grupta toplam 99 denek yer almıştır. Ayrıca, İ.G., girişim sonrasında psikolojik yardım İsteyip istememeye göre iki gruba ayrılarak farklı hedef kişilere duygularını açmalan açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Psikolojik yardım isteyen grup 18, psikolojik yardım İstemeyen grup ise ts denekten oluşmuştur. ESDS ile toplanan verilerin istatistiksel analizleri ortalamalar arası farklar test edilerek yapılmıştır. İ.G. İle N.G. arasında aileye öfke; kadın terapiste mutluluk, kıskançlık ve sakinlik; erkek terapiste sakinlik duygularının açılması konusunda anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. İ.G. İle P.G. arasında kadın terapiste mutluluk, kıskançlık ve sakinlik duygularının açılması konusunda anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. İ.G.ta psikolojik yardım isteyenlerle, istemeyenler arasında yapılan karşılaştırmada, yalnızca erkek terapiste açılma konusunda anlamlı farklılık saptanmıştır.

The aim of this study was to investigate the emotional self-disclosure of the women who attempted suicide. In this context, to evaluate the self-disclosure of the women who attempted suicide ESDS (Emotional Self-Disclosure Scale) was used. The sample of the study consisted of 3 groups: a)suicide attempted group ($G) (n=33), b)psychiatric group (PG) (n=33) and c) normal group (NG) (n=33), a total of 99 subjects. Suicide attempters were seperated Into two groups according to these who search for help (18) against those who did not (15) and were assessed for their emotional self-disclosure. Data gathered by ESDS were analyzed by using t test for matched groups. Statistical analyses revealed that there were significant differences between NG and SG in disclosure of anger feelings towards their family. The sex of the therapist played a significant role in disclosure of happiness, jealousy, calmness emotions. Disclosure of these feelings to the female therapist were found to be significantly different between NG and SG as well as in SG and PG. When suicide attempted subjects who demanded psychological help and those who didn't were evaluated the only difference found were in disclosure of emotions to the male therapist. Suicide attempted group who requested psychological help preferred the male therapist for emotional self-disclosure.
