Dikkat Eksikliği Hiperaktivite Bozukluğu (DEHB), erken çocukluk döneminde başlayan ve temel belirtileri erişkin dönemde de devam eden gelişimsel bir nöropsikiyatrik bozukluktur. DEHB, sâdece hastaları değil hem âileyi hem de okulu içeren geniş bir kitleyi etkilemesi bakımından tüm toplumu ilgilendiren bir konu olarak göze çarpmaktadır. Son yıllarda DEHB tanısı koyulmuş çocuk ve gençlerin sayısında belirgin bir artış görülmektedir. İlgili literatürde, DEHB'nin, etiyolojisi hakkında birçok farklı görüş bulunmakla birlikte, bilimsel olarak ispatlanmış ortak bir görüşe ulaşılamamıştır. Bu bağlamda, DEHB'ye neden olan etkenlerin yeniden gözden geçirilmesi ve bu bozukluğun seyrine etki edebilecek farklı faktörlerin ele alınması gerekmektedir. Birçok araştırmada, sinir sistemine ve beynin işleyişine zarar verici etkileri saptanan elektromanyetik alanın, DEHB'ye muhtemel etkilerinin bilimsel olarak açığa kavuşturulması, bu bozukluk ile mücadelede farklı bir bakış açısı kazandırabilir. Günlük hayatımızda kullandığımız elektronik âletlerin neden olduğu elektromanyetik etkilenme, gün geçtikçe artmakta ve insan sağlığını tehdit etmektedir. Bu açıdan bakıldığında, elektromanyetik alan DEHB'ye etki edebilen bir risk faktörü olarak değerlendirilebilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı elektromanyetik alanın, DEHB yaygınlık oranına ve bu bozukluğun seyrine muhtemel etkileri konusunda duyarlılığın artmasına katkı sağlamaktır. Ayrıca elektromanyetik alan mâ-ruziyetlerinin, DEHB belirtilerini şiddetlendirmedeki muhtemel etkileri hakkında ilgili kişileri ve kurumları haberdar ederek bu konu üzerinde sistemli ve kapsamlı araştırmaların yapılmasına bilgi altyapısı hazırlamak istenmektedir.

Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) begins in early childhood and its basic symptoms in adulthood is ongoing as a developmental neuropsychiatric disorder. ADHD is an issue of concern in terms of affecting not only patients, but also the whole community including families and schools. In recent [year]s, the number of ADHD children and young people are increasing. Generally, ADHD is defined as a minimal brain disorder in the relevant literature. In this context, factors that cause ADHD need to be reviewed and different factors that influence the development of this disorder need to be evaluated. The scientific determination of the possible effects on ADHD by the electromagnetic field which has been found to have harmful effects on the nervous system and brain in many researches may yield a different perspective. In our daily lives, the electromagnetic effects of electronic equipments we use is increasing day by day and threaten human health. Therefore, the electromagnetic field can be regarded as a risk factor that can affect ADHD. The purpose of this study is to contribute to an increased sensitivity about the possible effects of the electromagnetic field on the ADHD prevalence rates and on the course of this disorder. Moreover, it is desired to prepare an information infrastructure for a systematic and comprehensive research on this subject by alerting the interested persons and institutions about the possible effects of electromagnetic fields exposures on the intensification of ADHD symptoms.
