Şiddet, en temel içgüdüsel dürtülerden biri olan saldırganlığın eyleme dönüşmüş hâlidir ve cinsellikle de çok sık iç içe girer. Hâlbuki bir eğilimin doğamızda olması demek, onu serbestçe uygulamak anlamına gelmez. Bilakis, evrimsel açıdan en temel güdülendirme itkileri (pulses) olan bu yönlerimizin terbiye edilmesi, denetim altına alınması bizi çok daha insancıl (humanitarian) yapacaktır. Wildness is the form of acting, which is the expression of one of our basic instinctual drives, aggression, just like sexuality which very often intersects. If we have an inborn tendency, this does not mean that we may apply it freely. On the contrary, training of our basic motivating pulses, and controlling them will make us much more humanitarian. In this article, the issue of wildness is evaluated in an evolutionary perspective, and the main themes of the subject are summarized.
