Mağdur, elinde bulunan hakları ihlal edilen kişidir. Mağduriyet olayında kişinin yakınları da aynı psikolojiyle etkilenebilmektedir. Mağdur olan kişi, ihlal edilen hakları için hukuki sürece başvurabilmektedir. Bu süreç içerisinde mağdur, gerekli ruh sağlığı giderlerini de tazmin edebilmektedir. Fakat bu süreç, mağdur kişi açısından sıkıntı yaratabilmektedir. Hukuki sürecin bazen bezdirici olması, kişinin aynı travmayı tekrar tekrar yaşaması bu sürecin en olumsuz taraflarını teşkil etmektedir. Mağdurun sıfatı cezai işlemin farklı yürümesine sebep olabilmektedir. Çocukların ve akıl hastalarının hakları ayrı yasalarla korunmaktadır. Bunlara yönelik ihlal olaylarında cezai işlem artmaktadır. Diğer taraftan mağdurun tipolojisine bakıldığında, mağdurun da suçta rolü olabileceği bir takım otoriterler tarafından ifade edilmiştir. Bundan dolayı fail ve mağdur etkileşimine çift taraflı bakılabilir. Mağdurları zayıf tarafları noktasında bilgilendirmek bu açıdan yararlı olabilir.

Victim is a person whose rights are infringed. At victimhood state, close relatives of victim can be affected with same psychology. Victim can apply to court for his infringed rights. In this process, victim can recoup his necessary expenditure of mental health. But at the same time this process might cause trouble for victim. The irksome sides of judicial process and to experience the same trauma again are the most negative side of this process. The status of victim can lead to a different way of process. The rights of children and mental patients are protected by discrete laws. Against infringement cases directed to these people, the criminal action is augmented. On the other hand, considering the typology of victim, it has been postulated by some authorities that victim also might have a role in crime. Therefore, interactive relation between perpetrator and victim can be viewed as reciprocally. When considered from this aspect, it might be useful to clarify the victims about their weaknesses.
