In last two decades pathological gambling is escaletes in our clinical practice. Since 1980's pathological gambling is used in the same meaning with compulsive gambling. In this study a case of a gambler is presented with the Rorschach and TAT. The Rorschach, TAT protocols and the psychoanalytical interpretations of a male adult gambler are studied. Especially the pregenital mother cards are evaluated in the light of psychoanalytic literature. In the psychoanalytic literature, gambling is a substitute for early childhood and pubertal time masturbation for self punishment. From the Rorschach and TAT protocols of the patient, object lost, sequential with otoerotic work and gambling can be evaluated as self punishment as in the psychoanalytic literature.
