Bu makalede; aile ve çift terapisinin tanımının, belli başlı ekollerin ve belli kavramsal açıklamalarının yapılması, aile ve çift terapisi konusunda genel bilgi ve paylaşım ihtiyacına cevap verilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Toplum sistemleri içinde yer alan ailelerde, bireylerin birbirleri ile interaksiyonu sonucu, aile içinde yaşanan her durum, diğer aile üyeleri üzerinde etkili olmaktadır. Bazen davranış paterni haline gelebilen sıkıntılı ve zor süreçler zaman zaman ailenin temel öğeleri olan eşler ve çocuklar arasında, zaman zaman da ailenin alt sistemi olan çiftlerde gözlenebilmektedir. Özellikle klinik psikiyatri pratiğinde, aile üyelerinden ya da çiftlerden birisinin ?tanımlanmış hasta? olarak belirlendiği ve tüm problemlerin kaynağının o kişiye atfedilmesi ile söz konusu olduğunda, aile ve çift terapisi majör olan bir terapi/tedavi yaklaşımıdır.

In this article, we aim to make the definitions of family and couple therapy, the ruling schools and certain conceptual explanations and also to respond the general need of information sharing. As a result of the interaction of the family members, every situation that happens in the family which is the part of the community systems is effective among the family members. The distressed and difficult situations which sometimes become behavior patterns can be seen sometimes between the basic elements of the family that are the spouses and children or between the couples that are the sub systems of the family. Especially in the clinical psychiatry practice, when one of the family members or one of the spouses is defined as an ?identified patient? and all the responsibility for the problem is put on that person, family and couple therapy/treatment is a major therapy/ approach.
