Pediatrik hasta grubunda psikotropik ilaçların güvenilirliği ve etkinliği açısından bilgilerin kısıtlılığına karşın, birçok epidemiyolojik çalışmada kullanımlarının arttığına ilişkin bildirimler bulun-maktadır. Bu artışın özellikle psikostimulanlarla ve serotonin gerialım inhibitörleri ile ilgili olduğu söylenebilir. Bu sunumda çocuk ve ergenlerde psikofarmakolojinin genel ilkelerinden ve ruhsal bozuklukların tedavisinde kullanılan ana ilaç gruplarından söz edilecektir

Despite the scarcity of evidence on the safety and efficacy of psychotropic drugs in pediatric population, especially in the long term, several epidemiological studies have reported an increase in their prescription rates. This increase is especially evident for stimulants and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. In this presentation presents general principles for the use of psychopharmacology as well as describes the major groups of psychotropic medications used to treat mental disorders in children and adolescents.
