Bu çalışmanın amacı, korunmaya muhtaç gençlerin sosyal grup çalışması gereksinimini belirlemektir. Araştırma 11-19 yaşlarındaki 60 kız ve 102 erkeği kapsamaktadır. Bilgi toplama aracı olarak soru kağıdı kullanılmıştır. Psikolojik, sosyal ve cinsel gereksinimleri belirleyen konular listelenerek, gençlere hangi amaçlı gruplara katılmak istedikleri sorulmuştur. Duygusal gereksinimlerde kızlarda “güven duygusu kazanmak”, erkeklerde ise “çekingenliğini yenmek” en önemli gereksinim olarak görülmüştür. Sosyal gereksinimler konusunda “derslerde başarılı olmak” hem kızlar, hem de erkekler tarafından en önemli gereksinim olarak belirlenmiştir. Cinsel gereksinimlere gelince kızlarda ve erkeklerde “karşı cinsle iletişim kurabilmek” ve “cinsel konularda bilgi edinmek” en önemli gereksinim olarak ortaya çıkmıştır.

The objective of this study is to determine the need of social group work for adolescents under protection. The sample was consisted of 60 girls and 102 boys between 11-19 [year]s of age. A questionnaire was used to collect relevant data. A list of psyhological, social and sexual needs was prepared and the subjects were asked to mark five items they considered most important. In terms of psychological needs “to gain self-confidence” was found most important for girls whereas “overcoming avoidance” was found to be most important both in boys and girls. In terms of sexual needs “to communicate with the opposite sex” and “to obtain information about sexual” were considered most important subjects for girls and boys.
