Dünyada intihar ergenlerde ölüm nedenleri arasında üçüncü sıradadır ve diğer yaş gruplarına göre daha hızla artmaktadır. Her yıl en az 90.000 ergen (19 yaşa kadar) intihar etmekte ve ulusal ve küresel psikososyal bir fenomen olarak kabul edilmektedir. Ergen intihar davranışı ergenlikte önemli bir kriz olup, sadece ergenin gelişimini değil aynı zamanda varlığını tehdit eder. Suicide are among the three leading causes of death for adolescents in the world and rates are rising faster in teenagers than in other age groups. At least 90,000 adolescents (up to age 19) commit suicide each [year] and is considered a national and global psycosocial phenomenon. Adolescent suicidal behaviour represents a grave crisis in the adolescent, a crisis not only in the development of adolescent but one that endangers the existence of adolescent. In this article adolescent suicidal Behavior has been disscused acording to demogrraphic features,etiology, risk factors and intervention.
