Serebral venöz tromboz (SVT) arteriyel tromboza oranla daha nâdirdir. Fonksiyonel sonuçları arteriyel
tromboza göre daha iyi olsa da, erken tanınıp tedavi edilmezse sekellere, hâttâ ölüme yol açabilir.
Serebral venöz trombozda klinik tablo, gelişme zamanı ve nöro-görüntüleme özellikleri değişkendir. Semptomlar baş ağrısı, nöbet, nörolojik defisitler ve bilinç değişikliklerini içerir. Nedenleri
arasında hiperkoagülabilite durumları, hematolojik bozukluklar, enfeksiyöz süreçler, gebelik,
oral kontraseptif kullanımı ve nâdir olarak dural arteriovenöz malformasyon (AVM) sayılabilir. Heparin
infüzyonu, oral antikoagülan kullanımı, intrasinüs tromboliz ve diğer endovasküler işlemler
SVT’da başlıca tedavi yaklaşımlarıdır. Bu yazıda dural AVM’a bağlı olarak SVT gelişen bir olgu nedeniyle,
SVT’un patogenetik, etiyolojik, klinik, radyodiagnostik yönleri ve tedavi verileri gözden
geçirilmektedir.

Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is less frequent than arterial thrombosis. Although the functional
outcomes of CVT are better than arterial thrombosis, CVT may lead to sequelae or even death
if not recognized and treated early. The clinical presentations, time of onset, and neuroimaging
findings are variable in CVT. Symptoms include headache, seizures, neurologic deficits, and altered
consciousness. Causes of CVT include hypercoagulable states, hematologic disorders, infectious
processes, pregnancy, contraceptive medications, and rarely dural arteriovenous malformations
(AVM). The principal treatment modalities of CVT are heparin infusion, intrasinus thrombolysis,
and other endovascular procedures. In this article, pathogenesis, etiological, clinical and radiodiagnostical
aspects and treatment data of CVT are reviewed because of a case with CVT due to
dural AVM.
