Bu yazıda, sekiz yaşında Sturge-Weber-Krabbe Hastalığı gösteren bir kız çocuğu takdim edilmiştir. Bu hastalığın başlıca klinik ve diğer belirtileri üzerinde-tarihi bir "yön takip edilerek- durulmuştur. Çocuğun, kullanılan birçok anti-epileptiklere direnen bir epilepsi hali göstermesi ve buna bağlı olarak hemiparezinin hemiplejiye doğru seyretmesi, bu çocuğa nöroşirürjikal bir müdahale için bir endikâsyon kabul edilmiştir. Belli bölgenin (direkt radiyolojik ve anjiyografik. tetkiklerden sonra) yapılan eksizyonu ve elektrokoterizasyonu, bir süre sonra çocuğun gerek epileptik krizlerinde, gerek felç durumunda bir dereceye kadar salâh temin etmiştir.

In this paper, the authors presents the case of an eight - [year] old girl suffering from Sturge - Weber - Krabbe disease who has naevus flammeus on both sides of her face, but most obviously at right; this girl was also mentally retarded (I.Q. 45-50), and had characterial defects such as crisis epilepsia beginning, from the right and generalizing; a hemiparesls at the right side, irritability and psychic instability. After each crisis of epilepsia, the hemiparesis at the, right, temporarily increased and prevented the child to walk. In the direct roentgenogram, intracerebral calcifications had been recorded at the left.
The various antiepileptics given to this child didn't have successful results, and after each crisis, both psychical and motor aggravation were observed. Then, neurosurgical intervention was applied and the area producing most of these symptoms was excized and cauterized. After this intervention, an amelioration was observed in the child in both epilepsia and psychomotor direction.
