Zihinsel Engelli Olan ve Olmayan Çocuk-Anne İkililerinin etkileşim Örüntülerinin Karşılaştırılması

Amaç: Bu çalışmada zihinsel engelli ve engelli olmayan çocuğa sahip annelerin çocuklarıyla etkileşimleri karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmesi ve anne ile çocukların etkileşimsel davranışları belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem:15 zihinsel engelli 15 engelli olmayan çocuk takvim yaşlarına göre eşleştirilmişler ve iki grup çocuğun anne bebek etkileşimleri Tepki Sınışma Matriksi; annelerin etkileşim davranışlarının niteliği ise Anne/Yetişkin Katılım Envanteri ile değerlendirilmiştir. Her iki araç için de güvenirlik çalışması yapılmıştır. Sonuç: Çalışma sonucunda iki grup annenin etkileşim davranışlarının öğretme, kontrol ve amaç belirleme davranışları için miktar boyutunda farklılaştığı, hem annelerin hem de çocukların etkileşimsel davranışlarının çok çeşitlenmediği bulunmuştur. Anneler etkileşim sürecinde etkileşim yok/tepki yok boyutunda farklılaşırken, çocukların davranışlarının etkileşim/tepki yok, yalnız oyun oynama, yönergeye uyma boyutlarında farklılaştığı bulunmuştur. Tartışma: Sonuçlar özellikle engelli çocuklar için hazırlanan erken eğitim programlarının gerekliliği ve içeriği açısından yorumlanmıştır.
Comparisons of the Interactional Patterns of the Mothers-Children with and without Mental Retardation Dyads
Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the differences of the interactional behaviors between mothers and children with mental retardation and mothers and nonretarded children. Method: 15 mothers-children with developmental disability and 15 mothers and typically developing children dyads participated in the study. The age range of the children was from 4 [month]s to 50 [month]s and two groups of children were matched by their chronological ages. Parent/Caregiver Involvement Scale and Response Class Matrix were used for assessing interactional behaviors of the mothers and children. Results: Reliability studies for the two instruments were carried out by the researcher. The results of the study revealed that there was no statistically differences between interactional behaviors of the two groups of the mothers except amount of the teaching, controlling and goal settings behaviors. Moreover it was found that mothers and children showed limited behaviors for interaction and children with and without mental retardation differed on play, compliance and no interaction/no response behaviors. Discussion: The results were discussed in terms of the characteristics of the children and intervention programs provided to the children with mental retardation.
