Genel tıbbi duruma bağlı deliryumda tedavi etiyolojiye yöneliktir. Altta yatan etiyolojik nedenin belirlenmesi, ilgili
tıbbi bölüm ile işbirliği içinde götürülmelidir. Bu hastaların servis içinde uyumsuzlukları, özellikle ajitasyonları
gözlenirse psikiyatri konsültasyonu istenmektedir. Bu yazıda, acil serviste ajitasyon nedenli görülen, öykü ve klinik
izlem ile datura stramonium zehirlenmesine bağlı deliryum tanısı koyduğumuz bir olgu sunulmaktadır. Bu olguyu
sunmaktaki amacımız, sık görülen, tanı ve tedavisinde psikiyatristlerin yer aldığı deliryum tablolarının etiyolojisinde
yer alan madde zehirlenmelerine değinmek ve doktorların etiyolojide göz önünde bulundurmaları için, halk aras
ında yaygın kullanımı olan bir zehirli bitki hakkında bilgi vermektir.

Treatment is based on the etiology in the delirium due to a general medical condition. To determine the underlying
cause, different medical departments must work together. Psychiatric consultations are needed when these
patients act against the services’ rules or become agitated. We present a case where the patient was evaluated
for the agitated behavior in the emergency unit and diagnosed as delirium due to datura stramonium intoxication.
Our aim in presenting this case is to draw attention to the substance intoxications which are frequently seen in the
etiology of delirium cases where psychiatrist take role in the diagnosis and treatment process, and to give
information about this widely used poisonous herb for the doctors to keep in mind.
