Amaç: Atomoksetin DEHB'de psikostimülanlara alternatif olarak kullanılmaya başlanan stimulan
olmayan bir ilaçtır. Bu yazıda atomoksetinin çocuk ve ergenlerdeki kullanımı ile ilgili çalışmalar gözden
geçirilmiştir. Yöntem: Pubmed, Ovid ve Proquest arama motorları kullanılarak atomoksetinin
çocuk ve ergenlerde klinik kullanımı, etkinliği ve yan etkileri ile ilgili çalışmalar gözden geçirilmiştir.
Atomoksetin ile ilgili 77 çalışma saptanmış, 30 yayın çocuk ve ergenlerle ilgili bulunmuştur. Sonuç:
Çocuk ve ergenlerde atomoksetinin DEHB tedavisinde etkin bir ilaç olduğu, eştanılı durumlarda DEHB
belirtilerinin yanısıra depresyon, anksiyete ve tik belirti şiddetini de azalttığı, günde tek doz kullanım
ile etki süresinin akşam saatlerine dek sürdüğü, en sık yan etkilerinin baş ağrısı, iştah azalması,
kusma, uyku hali, sinirlilik, halsizlik, baş dönmesi ve dispepsi olduğu bildirilmiştir. Tartışma:
Atomoksetin DEHB tedavisinde iyi tolere edilen ve etkin bir ilaç olarak görünmektedir.

Objective: Atomoxetine is a nonstimulan therapeutic alternative drug for treatment of ADHD in children
and adolescents. The objective of the paper is to review all the published papers on atomoxetine
use in children and adolescents. Method: A computarized literature search was conducted to retrieve
all reports about the usage, effectiveness and the side effect of atomoxetine in children and adolescents.
It has been found 77 reports on atomoxetine were published, but only 30 reports were related
to children and adolescents. Atomoxetine is an effective drug in ADHD, in the comorbide conditions the
drug also decreases depression, anxiety and tic symptom severity levels. After once-a-day dose symptom
relief continues for whole day. Common side effects of atomoxetine include headache, decreased
appetite, vomiting, somnolance, and dizziness. Discussion: Atomoxetine was found to be effective
and well tolerated for the treatment of ADHD in children and adolescents.
