Şizofreni hastalarının etkilenmemiş birinci derece yakınlarındaki şizotipal özelliklerin sağlıklı bireylerle karşılaştırılması: Bir ön çalışma

Amaç: Şizofreni hastalarının birinci derece akrabalarındaki şizotipal özelliklerin sağlıklı kontrollerle karşılaştırılması amaçlanmıştır.
Yöntem: Örneklem şizofreni tanılı bireylerin DSM-IV TR tanı ölçütlerine göre herhangi bir psikiyatrik tanıyı karşılamayan birinci derece akrabaları ile kendisinde ve birinci derece akrabalarında herhangi bir psikiyatrik bozukluk bulunmayan sağlıklılardan oluşturuldu. Bireylerden Şizotipal Kişilik Ölçeğinin doldurulması istendi.
Bulgular: Garip inanış ve sıra dışı algısal yaşantı puanları sağlıklı grupta anlamlı olarak yüksekti. Yakın arkadaş yokluğu puanı, şizofrenlerin birinci derece akrabalarında sağlıklı kontrollere göre anlamlı olarak yüksek bulundu (3.2 puana karşın 2.2 puan). Bilişsel algısal faktör puanı sağlıklı kontrol grubunda anlamlı olarak yüksekti (8.8 puana karşın 5 puan). Gruplar arasında dezorganize şizotipi açısından bir fark bulunamadı. Pozitif şizotipi skoru, sağlıklılarda anlamlı olarak yüksek iken (12.2 puana karşın 7.2 puan); negatif şizotipi açısından gruplar arasında bir fark yoktu.
Sonuçlar: Çalışmamız, dezorganize şizotipinin şizofreni için genetik ya da ailesel özellik göstermediğini desteklemektedir. Hasta akrabaları nda yakın arkadaş yokluğu puanının anlamlı yüksekliği, şizofrenide negatif özelliklerin ailesel ya da genetik özellikler taşıyabileceğini düşündürmektedir
Comparison of the schizotypal features of unaffected First degree relatives of schizophrenic patients with that of healthy control subjects: a preliminary study
Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the schizotypal features of the unaffected firrst degree relatives of schizophrenic patients with healthy controls.
Methods: The sample was consisted of the relatives of schizophrenic patients, who did not meet any psychiatric diagnostic criteria according to DSM-IV TR and healthy people who and whom first degree relatives did not have any psychiatric disorder. Subjects were requested to fill out the Schizotypal Personality Questionnaire.
Results: Odd belief and unusual perceptual experience scores were significantly higher in healthy group. First-degree relatives of schizophrenia patients had significantly higher no close friends subscale scores than healthy controls (3.2 versus 2.2). The cognitive perceptual factor score was significantly higher in healthy control group (8.8 versus 5). With respect to disorganized schizotypy, there was no significant difference between groups. The positive schizotypy was significantly higher in controls (12.2 versus 7.2) whereas negative schizotypy was comparable between groups.
Conclusion: Our study supports the view that the disorganization dimension does not show a familial or a genetic association for schizophrenia. Higher scores in no-close friend sub-dimension which is related to negative symptoms of schizophrenia might be related to familial and genetic features of schizophrenia
