Psikiyatri Kliniği vak'alarından 31 depression hastasma gün aşırı 500 mg. olmak üzere 6 şar zerklik intravenöz Niamid tatbik edilmiştir. Bu tedavi ile, bazen elektroşok'a mukavemet eden vak'alarda dahi çok iyi neticeler alınmış bulunuyor. Elde mevcut vak'a serisi nihaî bir istatistik malûmatın elde edilmesine kifayetli değilse de, intravenöz Niamid'in, kısa süreli ve effektif bir antidepressif tedavi metodu olduğu muhakkaktır.

Intravenous Niamid has been administered to 31 cases of de-pression, all patients of the Psychiatry Clinic of Istanbul University, in a treatment course of 6 infusions on alternate days, each consisting of 500 mg. Very good results have been obtained on this treatment plan even in cases refractory to electroshock therapy. Although the number of cases in the present series is insufficient to draw statistical conclusions, it is certain that the administration of intravenous Niamid is a rapid acting and effective method for anti-depressive treatment.
