The Family Drawing Test, which is based on the Human Drawing Test, has been developed by Maurice Parot. The main purpose of the Family Drawing Test that is based upon the psychoanalytic theory is to understand how the child evaluates his/her experience inside the family. In this paper, it is tried to explain with the examples how the Family Drawing Test is evaluated in terms of understanding the construction of the family. Instead of transferring all the data coming from the examples, we will focus a few data and their interpretations, which are appeared to be at the first glance of the pictures. The properties of the drawings drawn by the child such as the order of the drawings of the family members, the proportions of their heights, the positions, and the dressings of the people in the drawings give us valuable information about how the child evaluates his/her experience inside the family. Additionally, at the moment of the application of the test, the speech of the child and all the child's movements must be noted. Because those actions consist important clinical data as well as the drawings.
When the Family Drawing Test is applied, being seen from the drawings should not be evaluated as a definite data. The data coming from the test help us to determine the points of what must be considered and talked with the family. Another important point of the test is its guide role to determine the process and construct the concept of the therapeutic work, which will be carried out with the child and the family. The Family Drawing Test finds its real meaning and value after the evaluation meeting that is done with the child and the family.
