Amaç: Çalışmanın amacı, 8-16 yaş grubu çocuk ve gençlerde obsesif kompulsif bozukluğun (OKB) görülme sıklığını çocuk, ergen ve öğretmenlerden elde edilen bilgiler doğrultusunda belirlemektir. Yöntem: Araştırma, 918 erkek, 844 kız öğrenci olmak üzere toplam 1762 denekten oluşmuştur. Çalışmada Leyton Obsesyon Envanteri (LOI)-Çocuk ve Ergen Formu, Leyton Obsesyon Envanteri- Öğretmen Değerlendirmesi Formu, Batıl İnançları Belirleme Formu ve Maudsley Obsesif-Kompulsif Soru Listesi kulanılmış ve ölçekler arasında korelasyon belirlenmiştir. Bulgular: LOI-Çocuk ve Ergen Formuna OKB'un görülme sıklığı %10.4 olarak bulunmuştur. Tartışma: Bu çalışma, ölçeklerin OKB'un görülme sıklığını belirlemek açısından güvenilir bir biçimde kullanılabileceklerini ve daha ileri araştırma ve kültürler arsı karşılaştırmalı çalışmalara gereksinim olduğunu ortaya koymuştur.

Objective: The aim of the present study was to identify and aobtain data on the prevalence rates of the obsessive compulsive disorders in Turkish children and adolescents in terms of their age, gender, and SES characteristics based on child, youth, and teacher reports. Method: Leyton Obsessional Inventory,Child and Adolescent Version, Leton Obsessional Inventory-teacher Rating, Maudsley Obsessive-Compulsive Questionnaire and Superstitions Forms were completed by 1762 nonreferred children and adoelescents aged 8-16. Results: The psychometric properties of the inventories indicate that they can be used with Turkish children as a valid and valuable instrument or a screening device for research and clinical purposes. The correlations among inventories weer satisfactory. In terms of children reports the prevalence rate of OCD in the total population was found to be 10.4%. Conclusion: These findings suggest that the percentage prevalance of OCD in Turkish children is quite high. Further researches and cross-cultural studies need to be conducted in this area.
