Bu çalışma 7-15 yaş grubundaki çocukların kendilik algısı ve saldırganlık eğilimi düzeylerini, etkili olabilecek etmenleri incelemek, kendilik algısı ile saldırganlık eğilimi arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olup olmadığını belirlemek amacıyla planlanmıştır. Araştırmaya Erzurum il merkezinde yaşayan toplam 150 çocuk dahil edilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak “Piers Haris Benlik Kavramı Ölçeği”, “Saldırganlık Ölçeği” ile “Genel Bilgi Formu” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde “Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi” ve “Korelasyon Katsayısı Önemlilik Testi” kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda çocukların yaş, cinsiyet, anne- baba öğrenim düzeylerinin kendilik algısı puanlarında, kardeş sayısı ve sosyo-ekonomik düzeyin ise hem kendilik algısı, hem de saldırganlık eğilimi puanlarında anlamlı bir farklılığa yol açtığı (p<.01, p<.05), kendilik algısı ve saldırganlık eğilimi arasında negatif yönde bir korelasyon olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda öneriler getirilmiştir.

The aim of this study was to investigate the self perception and aggression tendency of children between seven to fifteen [year]s old, to identify the factors that are possible to be effective in this issue and determine whether relation was found between self perception and aggression tendency. The sample was selected as a total of one hundred and fifty children lived in Erzurum. The data were collected via the “Piers-Harris Self-Concept Scale", “Aggressiveness Scale” and “General Information Form”. One Way Variance Analiysis, and Correlations Significant Test were used as statistical methods. The findings of this study indicate that self-perception levels vary depending on the age and gender of the child, the educational status of the parents, number of siblings in the family and socio-economic status, aggression tendency levels vary depending on the number of siblings in the family and socio-economic status. (p<.01, p<.05). And also it determined that negative correlation between self-perception and the aggression tendency. Proposals for solution have been suggested in accordance with the results obtained in the study.
