Amaç: Bu araştırmanın amacı, eşler arası çatışma ve boşanmanın çocukların davranış ve uyum problemleri üzerindeki yaş ve cinsiyete bağlı etkilerinin bir Türk örnekleminde belirlemektir. Yöntem: Dört faklı yaş grubundan (5-10-13-16 yaş) 196'sı erkek. 225'i kız toplam 421 denekli bir örneklem üzerinde çalışma yapılmıştır. Araştırmada çocukların uyum problemleri çeşitli kendini bildirim ölçekleri ile belirlenmiştir. Bulgular: Sonuçlara göre, çatışmalı ve boşanmış anne-babaların çocuklarının psikolojik problem düzeylerinin, çatışmasızlara oranla daha yüksek olduğu ve anne-baba arasındaki evlilik uyumunun azalmasıyla çocuklardaki uyum problemlerinin arttığı bulunmuştur. Tartışma: Bulguların ilgili literatürü büyük ölçüde desteklediği görülmüş, kültüre özgü farklılıklar üzerinde durulmuş ve olası doğurguları tartışılmıştır.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of maritial conflict and divorce on behaviour adjustment problems of children at diffrent age and sex in Turkish sample. Method: A sample of 421 subjects (196 boys, 225 girls) was selected from four diffrent age groups (5-10-13-16 [year]s old). Behaviour and adjustment problems of children were measured by self reports scales. Results: The results showed that the children of conflicted and divorced parents had more psychological problems and there was significant negative correlation between the level of maritial adjustment scores of parents and the psychological problem scores of their children. Conclusion: Results support the relevant findings in the literature. Cultural diffrences were also discussed.
