Amaç: Bu çalışmada bir devlet çocuk hastanesinde pediyatristlerin çocuk psikiyatrisi bölümü ile ilgili görüşlerini öğrenmek amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Bu amaç doğrultusunda düzenlenen bir anket 40'ı uzman, 42'si asistan olmak üzere 82 pediyatriste uygulanmıştır. Sonuç: Çalışmaya katılım oranı %71'dir. Anket sonucunda pediyatristlerin %8.5'inin çocuk psikiyatrisi bölümünü tanımadığı; tanıyanların hastalarından, eğitim toplantılarından ve sosyal ilişkilerden tanıdığı anlaşılmıştır. İncelenen 18 konsultasyon etkinliğinin hepsi pediyatristlerin yarısından fazlası tarafından önemli ya da çok önemli bulunmuştur. Pediyatristlerin %37'si çocuk psikiyatrisi konsultasyonlarını yeterli, %46'sı kısmen yeterli ve %15'i yetersiz görmektedir. Pediyatristlerin %60'ı mutlaka, %39'u zaman zaman çocuk psikiyatristi ile işbirliği yapacağını bildirmiştir. Pediyatristler en verimli işbirliği yolunun sırasıyla ortak vaka toplantıları, çocuk psikiyatristi rotasyonu ve ortak vizitler olduğu görüşündedir. Tartışma: Bu çalışma psikiyatri ve pediyatri bölümleri arasındaki iletişimin istenen düzeyde olmadığını, ancak pediyatristlerin pediyatri ile işbirliğine oldukça olumlu baktığını göstermiştir.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the perceptions of pediatricians about child psychiatry unit in a state hospital for children. Method: For this purpose a questionnaire was administered to 82 pediatricians of whom 40 were specialist and 42 residents. Results: The participation rate was 71 percent. As a result it was seen that 8.5 percent of the pediatricians didn't know the child psychiatry unit. Those who knew, this unit from patients, education programs or social relationships. Eighteen consultation activities that were interrogated were found important or very important by at least half of the pediatricians. Thirty-seven percent of the pediatricians found child psychiatry consultations sufficient. 46 percent partially sufficient and 15 percent found them insufficient. Sixty percent of the pediatricians reported that they will always collaborate with child psychiaty unit and 39 percent reported that they will collaborate only partially. Pediatricians found joint case meetings, rotation in child psychiatry and joint visits the best ways of collaboration between pediatry and child psychiatry. Discussion: The result of the study showed that the collaboration between psychiatry and pediatrics was not very satisfying and the pediatricians seem quite willing for more colaboration.
