Aşkın insana özgü bir davranış olmayıp, aşka benzer bağlanma davranışlarının diğer memelilerde
de var olduğu bilinir. Son yıllarda hayvan ve insan çalışmalarıyla aşkın ve sosyal bağlanma davranışının biyolojik temelleri yoğun biçimde araştırılmaya başlanmıştır. Evrimsel psikologlar da bulunan
bulgulardan yola çıkarak aşkın ve eşe bağlanma davranışının evrimsel süreçteki türün devamına
getirdiği avantajlar konusunda birçok öne sürümler yapmaktadırlar. Bu yazıda bu konudaki son gelişmeler
gözden geçirilecektir.

It is now well known that love is not a specific behaviour to human beings, but rather, at least some
behaviours resembling love are common in other mammalians too. In recent [year]s, the basis of
love and social attachment behaviour has been intensively investigated by many animal and human
studies. From the findings of these studies, evolutional psychologists have some suggestions
about advantages of the love and pair bond behaviours for the continuation of the species generation
within the evolutional process. Much of the neuroscientific mechanisms underlying love and
attachment behaviour are much more discovered understood and documented in the recent [year]s.
These observations, interpreted with the evolutionary frame, will highlight many social and
psychological aspects of attachment, love and fidelity. Recent advances in these issues will be reviewed
in this paper.
