Elektrokonvülsif tedavinin (EKT) bellek üzerine olan etkileri bu
etkili tedavi yönteminin kullanımına başlıca itiraz nedeni olmuştur.
Tedavi sonrası bellek bozukluğu görülmesi bir kural olmasına
karşın, izleme çalışmaları hemen hemen tüm hastaların tedavi
serilerinin bitiminden altı ay sonra eski bilişsel düzeylerine geri
döndüğünü göstermektedir. Bu makalenin amacı EKT sonrası
,görülen bellek bozukluklarının nedenleri ve kendine has özellikleri
konusunda bilgi vermektir.
