Gözlemlerimize göre bazı durumlarda ailenin kronik hastalığı algılayışı, etkilenmesi ve bu durumu çocuğa yansıtış tarzı hastalığın şiddetiyle doğru orantılı olmamaktadır. Bu çalışmada amaç, kronik bir hastalık olan bronşiyal astım hakkında anne ve çocuğun bilgilerini araştırmak, hastalığın ruhsal durumları üzerinde etkilerini ve hastalığı algılayış derecelerini değerlendirmektedir. Bu amaçla, Marmara Üniversitesi Pediatrik Göğüs Hastalıkları Polikliniği’ne Haziran 93- Ocak 94 tarihleri arsında başvuran ve bronşiyal astım tanısı olan 7-12 yaş arası 29 çocuk ve annelerine ÇDÖ (Çocuklar için Depresyon Ölçeği) ve BTL-90 (Belirti Tarama Listesi-90) uygulanmıştır. Sonuçta bronşiyal astım hastalığının asıl şiddeti arttıkça annenin pozitif belirti düzeyinde anlamlı artış gözlenmiştir.

Famillies’ thoughts and the expression of the feelings chronic illness are not always in proportion to the severity of the illness itself. The aim of this study is to examine the childrens and their mothers knowledge and thoughts about the severity of bronchial asthma. The relationship of bronchial asthma and the psychological states of the children and their mothers is also examined. CDI and SCL- 90- R are applied to 29 7- 12 [year]s old children and their mothers who applied to Marmara University Pediatric Chest Diseases Outpatient Clinic during June 93- January 94. The results reveal that the mothers positive symptom levels rise significantly as the severity of bronchial asthma increase
