Türkiye’nin güneydoğusu kadar hemen her yöresinde terör eylemlerinin tırmandığı göz önüne alınarak, bu yazıda, savaş ve benzeri durumlarla karşılaşan çocuk ve gençlerde duygusal ve davranış problemleri olup olmadığı, sıklığı ve çeşidi konusundaki yayınlar gözden geçirilmiştir. Yayınlar, savaş ve benzeri travmaların çocukların savunmalarını bozduğunu gösterir. Çocukların bu durumdan olabildiği kadar az yara almalarını belirleyen de, toplumun ve ailenin tutumu ve ailenin uyum yeteneğidir. Hazır olmadıkları yeni durumlarla başa çıkmaları konusunda ailelere yardımcı olmamız, özellikle ülkemiz koşullarında önemlidir.

The present study examined the interrelationship between the Offer Self- Image Questionnaire (OSIQ) and the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES). Most of the correlations observed between subscales of the two insruments reached to significant levels. The OSIQ Individual Values and Sexual Attitudes subscales failed to show expected correlations with the RSES subcales, afinding suggesting that te validity of the two subscales is questinoble. Examination of the Cronbach’s inernal consistency coefficiend for each subscale revealed that six of the RSES subcales and two of the OSIQ suffer from insufficient internal reliability. Through item analysis, bad items reducing a coefficients of the subcales have been identified.
