Siklofreni'nin klâsik şekillerinden mada bir de paranoid şekli olduğu, bunun bazen paranoia, bazen parafrenia arazları ile seyrettiği mütalâasındayız. Bu şekil ilk nöbet olarak görüldüğü ve ondan sonraki nöbetler o şekilde gelebildiği gibi mani -melankoli nöbetleri arasında paranoid hamlelerin de görüldüğü vakidir. Şu halde bundan sonra siklofreni şekillerinde bahsedilirken bir de «paranoid» şeklinin ilâvesi icabedecektir.
Nitekim kliniğimizin son 10 senelik istatistiklerinden anlaşıldığı üzere tedavi altına alınan 1441 siklofreni vakasından 39'unun (17 si erkek, 22'si kadın) paranoid şekil gösterdiği tesbit edilmiştir. Hususi bir müessese olan Şişli Fransız Akıl ve Sinir Hastanesinde ise bu nisbet daha yüksek bulunmuştur : Son 10 sene zarfında tedavi altına alınan 1239 siklofreni vakasında 197 sinde (85 erkek, 112 ka¬dın) paranoid şekle rastlanmıştır.

In cyclophrenia we maintain that apart from the classical forms there exists another, namely the paranoid form, which manifests symptoms of paranoia or paraphrenia. Although sometimes this form can appear as the first episode and the following episodes may follow in the same manner, at other times it may appear in between the manic melancholic episodes. Therefore it becomes necessary to mention the paranoid form when speaking of the forms of cyclophrenia.
A review of our clinic's statistics for the last 10 [year]s show that of the 1441 cases of cyclophrenia, 39 (17 male, 22 female) were diagnosed as the paranoid form. In the private French Hospital for Mental and Nervous Diseases this rate was found to be higher, i.e. during the last 10 [year]s, of the 1239 cases of cyclophrenia 197 (85 male, 112 female) were found to manifest the paranoid form.
