Mitokondrial ansefalomyopatiler, genetik bilimindeki başdöndürücü gelişmelerin sunduğu olanaklarla anlayabildiğimiz oldukça yeni bir dizi kavramın klinik uygulamadaki yansımasını temsil eder. Bu bildiride, elimizdeki histokimyasal yöntemlerle incelediğimiz ve sonuçlarını mitokondrial sitopati çerçevesi içinde yorumladığımız bir olguyu sunduk. Benzer olguların, belli bir platformda sunularak tartışılmasının ve ortak değerlendirmelerin yapılabileceği moleküler genetik ve moleküler biyoloji laboratuvarlarının kurulmasının gerekli olduğu inancındayız.

A case is presented in this report diagnosed as mitochondrial encephalopathy. Laboratory investigations were carried out to a certain point because of our technical limitations and diagnose is discussed in mitochondrial cytopathogenesis.
The need for discussions of similar cases at various sessions and establishment of molecular biological and genetic techniques which will allow common evaluations of the cases, is stressed.
