Teknoloji hayatımızda önemli bir işleve sahiptir. En yaygın teknolojik araçlardan olan akıllı cep telefonları bireyin sosyalleşmesine katkı sağlamaktadır. Bireyin yüz yüze iletişim halindeyken akıllı cep telefonu ile ilgilenmesi phubbing (sosyotelizm) olarak adlandırılmaktadır. Akıllı cep telefonları, bireyin diğer bireylerle ilişkisini hem olumlu hem de olumsuz yönde etkileyebilmektedir. Birey yüz yüze iletişim halindeyken akıllı cep telefonuna yönelebilmektedir. Birey, bu yönelim sonucunda sosyalleşme, kendini ifade etme ve sosyal becerilerindeki eksikliklerini kapatma imkanı elde etmektedir. Sosyal ortamlarda kendini ifade etmekte zorlanan birey, kendini yetersiz ve özgüvensiz hissedebilmektedir. Bu duygularından uzaklaşmak amacıyla akıllı cep telefonlarına yönelebilmektedir. Bireyler iletişim halindeyken akıllı cep telefonuna gelen bildirimlere bakmadığı zaman huzursuz hissedebilmekte ve bu huzursuzluktan kurtulmak için akıllı cep telefonuna yönelebilmektedir. Bireyin iletişim halindeyken telefonuna yönelmesi yüz yüze iletişim kurduğu bireyin de kendisini değersiz hissetmesine ve ilişkiden yeterli doyumu sağlayamamasına neden olmaktadır. Günümüz teknoloji dünyasında sanal uygulamalar ile bireyler; beğenilme, takdir edilme, kendini ifade etme fırsatı bulabilmektedir. Elde edilen bu fırsatlar bireyin sosyalleşme algısını ve mutluluğunu etkileyebilmektedir. Bu araştırma phubbing ile algılanan sosyalleşme ve mutluluk arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma verilerini elde etmek için "Genel Sosyotelist Olma Ölçeği", "Çevrimiçi Ortamda Algılanan Sosyalleşme Ölçeği" ve "Mutluluk Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu çeşitli sosyal medya platformları aracılığı ile ulaşılan 18-50 yaş arasındaki 319 yetişkin oluşturmaktadır. Analiz sonuçlarına göre; yetişkinlerde phubbing, çevrimiçi ortamda algılanan sosyalleşme ve mutluluk puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Yetişkinlerde phubbing ile algılanan sosyalleşme puanları arasında pozitif yönlü düşük düzeyde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Ayrıca phubbing ile mutluluk puanları arasında negatif yönlü düşük düzeyde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur.

:Technology has an important function in our lives. Smart mobile phones, one of the most common technological tools, contribute to the socialization of the individual. When an individual is communicating face to face, using a smart phone is called phubbing. Smart mobile phones can affect an individual's relationship with other individuals both positively and negatively. An individual may turn to his/her smart phone while communicating face to face. As a result of this orientation, the individual has the opportunity to socialize, express himself and compensate for his deficiencies in social skills. An individual who has difficulty expressing himself in social environments may feel inadequate and insecure. In order to get away from these feelings, they can turn to smart mobile phones. Individuals may feel uneasy when they do not check the notifications received on their smart mobile phones while communicating, and they may turn to their smart phones to get rid of this uneasiness. An individual's tendency to turn to his or her phone causes the individual with whom he/she communicates face to face to feel worthless and not be able to obtain sufficient satisfaction from the relationship. In today's technology world, individuals with virtual applications; They have the opportunity to be liked, appreciated and express themselves. These opportunities can affect the individual's perception of socialization and happiness. This research was conducted to examine the relationship between phubbing and perceived socialization and happiness. "General Sociolinguistic Scale", "Perceived Socialization in Online Environment Scale" and "Happiness Scale" were used to obtain research data. The study group of the research consists of 319 adults between the ages of 18-50 who were reached through various social media platforms. According to the analysis results; A statistically significant relationship was found between phubbing, perceived online socialization and happiness scores in adults. A positive, low-level, statistically significant relationship was found between phubbing and perceived socialization scores in adults. Additionally, a negative, low-level, statistically significant relationship was found between phubbing and happiness scores.
