Toplum ruh sağlığı hizmetlerinin amacı, ruh hastalıklarını önlemek ve ruh hastalığı tanısı konmuş olan bireylerin bakımını sağlamaktır. Toplum ruh sağlığı hizmetlerini içeren epidemiyolojik çalışmalar ise, ruhsal bozukluklar açısından, tanımlanmış bir popülasyondaki yaygınlık ve sıklığı araştırır. Öncelikle bu bireylerin durumlarının araştırılması, tüm toplumun ruh sağlığı gereksinimlerinin tanınmasına olanak tanıyacaktır. Toplum ruh sağlığı hizmetleri ekibi, psikiyatristler, pratisyen hekimler, toplum ruh sağlığı hemşireleri, psikologlar ve sosyal hizmet uzmanları gibi profesyonelleri kapsamaktadır. Toplum ruh sağlığı hemşireliğinin rolleri temel olarak alanda ruh sağlığı bakımı vermeyi, disiplinler arası iş birliği uygulama modellerini gerçekleştirmeyi, psikososyal rehabilitasyon ve önleme etkinliklerini göstermeyi ve iyileştirme programlarını içerir. Bu yazıda, toplum ruh sağlığı hizmetlerinde epidemiyolojik çalışmalar ve toplum ruh sağlığı hemşireliğinin rolleri açıklanmaktadır.

The goals of community mental health services are to prevent mental illness and care for those with diagnosed mental illness and prevent mental illness. Epidemiological studies in community mental health services, examine the incidence and prevalence of mental disorders in a defined population. Because they are expensive to carry out, most of the assessment studies of community needs use results from previous studies and apply these findings to their situation. The staffs in community mental health services are psychiatrists, general practitioners, community mental health nurses, psychologists and social workers, etc. Roles of the community mental health nursing include primary mental health care, developing interdisciplinary collaborative practice models, psycho-social rehabilitation and prevention, and wellness programs. In this article, epidemiological studies in community mental health services and roles of the community mental health nursing are described.
