Toplumun en önemli birimi olan aileye yönelik hizmetlerin önemi artmaktadır. Artan toplumsal sorunlar, aileye geliştirici ve önleyici hizmetlerin gerekliliğini hissettirmektedir. Sadece sorun yaşandığında, problem oluştuktan sonra değil; ailenin yaşam kalitesini geliştirmek, aile üyelerinin daha işlevsel olarak rol ve görevlerini yerine getirmelerine yardımcı olmak için aile danışmanlığı hizmeti sunulmalıdır. Bu çalışma, gelişimsel odaklı aile danışması sürecini ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Gelişimsel odaklı aile danışması süreci, Yapısal Aile Danışması ve Yaşantısal/İnsancıl Aile Danışması temel alınarak yarı yapılandırılmış dört oturumda tasarlanmıştır. Çalışma, küçük çocuklu (8 yaşında) aile yaşam döngüsündeki üç kişilik çekirdek aile ile yürütülmüştür. Sonuç olarak, gelişim odaklı aile danışmasının kısa vadede ailede birincil değişimlerin gerçekleşmesini sağladığı belirlenmiştir.

The importance of services towards the family, the most important unit of the society, is increasing. These services should be structured to help the family members to behave more functionally and perform their duties, and to improve the quality of life of the family not only after a problem occurs in the family or the family encounter with a problem. This study purposes to reveal the process of developmental-oriented family counselling. The process of developmental-oriented family counselling was designed in four semi-structured sessions that are based on Structural Family Counselling and Experiential/Humanistic Family Counselling. The present study was carried out with a family including three people that is in the family life cycle with young children. Consequently, it was found out that the developmental-oriented family counselling led to some primary changes in the family in the short term
