Bu araştırmanın amacı, veli oryantasyon programının okul öncesi öğrencilerinin okula uyumu üzerindeki etkisinin incelenmesidir. Araştırma, ön-test son-test, deney ve kontrol gruplu deneysel bir çalışmadır. Araştırma gönüllü olan 12 veli ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 12’si deney grubunda, 12’si kontrol grubunda olmak üzere 24 veli oluşturmaktadır. Deney grubuna bilişsel davranışçı aile danışması kuramı temel alınarak hazırlanan sekiz oturumluk “Veli Oryantasyon Programı” uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak 5-6 Yaş Çocukları İçin Okula Uyum Öğretmen Değerlendirme Ölçeği ve programı değerlendirme formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda Veli Oryantasyon Programının okul öncesi öğrencilerinin okuldan kaçınma düzeylerini azaltmada bir etkisinin olmadığı ancak okula uyum, işbirlikli katılım, kendi kendini yönetme ve okulu sevme düzeylerini anlamlı bir şekilde artırdığı bulunmuştur.

The main objective of this research is to investigate the effect of the parent orientation program on school adjustment of pre-school students. The research is an experimental study with pretest and posttest, experimental and control groups. The study was carried out with 12 parents volunteering participated in the program. The study group of research was consisted of 12 parents in the experimental group and 12 parents in the control group, totally 24 parents. Eight sessions Parent Orientation Program was administered to the experimental group which was prepared on the basis of Cognitive Behavioral Family Counseling Theory. In the research 'Teacher Assessment Scale for School Children for 5-6 Years' and 'Parent Orientation Program Evaluation Form' was used. As a result of the research, it was found that the Parent Orientation Program didn’t have an effect on decreasing the avoidance levels of preschoolers, but it significantly increased the levels of school adaptation, cooperative participation, self-management and school love of preschoolers.
