Fantastik komedi tarzındaki Yeni Ahit filmi Tanrı-baba ve ana tanrıça ile evlat/insanoğlu arasındaki ilişkiyi ele almaktadır. Film hem yönetmen Jaco Van Dormael’e hem de insanlığın ortak bilinçdışına ait "Tanrı iyiyse, dünyadaki bunca acının sebebi nedir?" sorusuna aranan cevap, ana tanrıçaya onun kocaman süt dolu memeleri ve koca göbeğindeki okyanussal karın içi yaşantısına dönüş arzusunun bir yansımasıdır. Film senaryosunun gerçekleşme tarzı rüya ile benzerlik gösterir. Yeni Ahit filminin gerçeküstü tarzı rüya ile olan benzerliğini daha da arttırmaktadır. Rüyanın bir açık, rüya görenin bildirdiği ve bir de gizil içeriği vardır. Açık ve gizil içeriğe sahip olmak sanat eseri için de geçerli bir durumdur. Filmde rüya işlevini yönetmen üstlenmekte ve hem rüyayı gören hem de Gösteren (Signifier) olarak ele almak yolu ile ortak bilinçdışı arzularımızı rüyaların dilini oluşturan yoğunlaştırma ve yer değiştirmelerle gizil içerikte bizlere sunmaktadır. Bu çalışmadaki amaç Yeni Ahit filminin açık içeriğinden gizli içeriğine doğru bir bakış kazanmak adına zaman zaman filmin bizde yarattığı duygulanım ve imgelerin, rüya çözümlemesine benzer şekilde yorumlanmasıyla şifre çözümünü sağlamaktır.

The New Testament movie, in the style of a fantastic comedy, deals with the relationship between God-father and mother goddess and son/human being. The film belongs to both director Jaco Van Dormael and the collective unconscious of humanity, "If God is good, what is the cause of all this suffering in the world?" The answer sought to the question is a reflection of the desire to return to the mother goddess with her huge breasts full of milk and the oceanic life in her big belly. The realization style of the movie script is similar to the dream. The surreal style of the New Testament movie further increases its resemblance to the dream. The dream has an explicit content which dreamer reports and a latent content. Having explicit and latent content is also valid for any work of art. In the film, the director assumes the role of the dream function and presents our common unconscious desires as both the dreamer and the signifier in the latent content with the condensation and displacements that make up the language of dreams. The aim of this study is to gain a view from the explicit content of the New Testament film to the hidden content; It is to provide decoding by interpreting emotion sensations and images similar to dream analysis.
