Bu çalışmada, haloperidolün laboratuvar yan etkilerinin araştırılması amacıyla skizofreniform bozukluk tanısı alan 21 olguda, 47 hafta süreli haloperidol tedavisi öncesi ve sonrasında olmak üzere iki defa rutin biyokimyasal ve hematolojik tetkikler ile prolaktin, troid fonksiyon testleri, EKG ve EEG incelemesi yapılmıştır. Tedavi sonrası tetkikler değerlendirildiğinde, prolaktin ortalama değerlerinde anlamlı derecede yükselme ile olguların %57'sinde EKG de T ve R dalga değişiklikleri; %62’sinde EEG de hafif alfa yavaşlaması, beta oranında hafif artma,teta ve delta aktivitesi, epileptojenik potansiyel taşıyabilecek karakterde keskin yavaş dalga aktivitesi gibi değişiklikler saptanmıştır.

In this study, 21 subjects with schizophreniform disorder were given routine biochemical and hemathological laboratory tests along with prolactine, thyroid funtion tests, ECG and EEG, before and after 4 weeks of haloperidol treatment. Comprasion of tests revealed that after treatment average prolactine levels elevated and 57% of subjects showed T and R wave changes in EKG, while 62% of subjects showed alpha wave slowing. Ratio of beta wave activity increased alittle, while teta and delta wave activities and sharp slow wave activities with possible epileptogenic patential in EEG were observed.
