Duygu Odaklı Terapide Yeme Bozukluklarına Kapsamlı Bir Bakış

Sağlıklı olmak, kişinin fiziksel olarak kendini iyi hissetmesiyle birlikte psikolojik açıdan da iyi hissedebilmesine
bağlıdır. En önemli ihtiyaçlardan biri olan beslenme sağlık için temel şartlardan biridir. Beslenme sürecinde kişinin
tutum ve davranışları; genetik, çevre, sosyo-ekonomik düzey, geçmiş yaşantılar, benlik ve beden algısı, psikolojik
durumu gibi birçok faktörden etkilenmektedir. Yeme bozukluklarında duygunun rolü, yeme bozukluklarının
etiyolojisi ve devamlılığının anlaşılması amacıyla giderek daha fazla tanınmaya başlamıştır. Yeme bozukluklarının
önlenmesi ve tedavisinde umut verici hedefler olarak duygu düzenleme ve ilgili süreçlere odaklanmada eşzamanlı
bir artış söz konusudur. Bu nedenle duyguların ön planda olduğu bir yaklaşım bağlamında yeme bozukluklarının
incelenmesi önemlidir. Duygu odaklı terapi; yaşamın kaçınılmaz bir bileşeni olan duyguların psikoterapi
sürecindeki rolünü anlamaya çalışan bir terapi yaklaşımıdır. Duygu odaklı terapide danışanların duygularını
tanımaları, daha iyi ifade etmeleri, deneyimlemeleri, kabullenmeleri, düzenlemeleri ve işlevsel bir hale
dönüştürmeleri amaçlanır. Bu derlemede duygu odaklı terapinin yeme bozuklukları üzerindeki etkililiğinin
incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu kapsamda duygu odaklı terapi ve yeme bozukluklarındaki duygusal faktörlerle
ilgili araştırmalar ve literatür incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bilgilere kapsamlı bir şekilde yer verilmekle birlikte
özellikle terapötik süreç ve teknikler üzerinde durulmuştur
A Comprehensive Overview of Eating Disorders in Emotion-FocusedTherapy
Being healthy depends on feeling good physically as well as feeling good psychologically. Nutrition, one of the
most important needs, is one of the basic conditions for health. Attitudes and behaviors of the person in the feeding
process; it is affected by many factors such as genetics, environment, socio-economic level, past experiences, self
and body perception, and psychological state. The role of emotion in eating disorders has been increasingly
recognized to understand the etiology and persistence of eating disorders. There is a concurrent increase in focus
on emotion regulation and related processes as promising targets in the prevention and treatment of eating
disorders. For this reason, it is important to examine eating disorders in the context of an approach where emotions
are at the forefront. Emotion-focused therapy; is a therapy approach that tries to understand the role of emotions, which are an inevitable component of life, in the psychotherapy process. In emotion-focused therapy, it is aimed
for clients to recognize, better express, experience, accept, regulate and transform their emotions into a functional
state. This review, it is aimed to examine the effectiveness of emotion-focused therapy on eating disorders. In this
context, research and literature on emotion-focused therapy and emotional factors in eating disorders were
reviewed. While the information obtained is given comprehensively, especially the therapeutic process and
techniques are emphasized.
