Kadın ve Erkeklerde Suç Korkusuna Nitel Araştırma ile Sosyolojik Bir Bakış

Suç, insanın ortaya çıkışından beri var olan, güvenliği tehdit eden, bir suçun mağduru olmuş ya da olmamış herkes için problem niteliğinde olan normal dışı davranıştır. Tüm toplumların kaçınılmazı olan, toplumsal değişimlerin etkisiyle artan bir sorun haline gelen suç olgusu, suç korkusunu da beraberinde getirmektedir. Toplumsal güven duygusunun yitimine yol açması ve sosyal çözülmeleri hızlandırması, suç ve suç korkusunu günümüz toplumlarının önemli meselelerinden biri haline getirmektedir. Bu çalışmada suç olgusu, suç korkusu ve cinsiyetin suç korkusuna etkisini ortaya koyabilmek için öncelikle teorik altyapı oluşturulmuştur. Ankara’da yaşayan 10 kadın ve 10 erkek ile yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yapılarak alan bilgisi elde edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Görüşme grubundaki kadınlara ve erkeklere bir suça maruz kalma korkularıyla ilgili sorular sorulmuştur. Elde edilen veriler, teorik çerçeve ışığında değerlendirilerek, sosyolojik bakış açısıyla cinsiyetin suç korkusuna etkisinin olup olmadığı ile ilgili fikir vermesi açısından önemli kabul edilmektedir. Nitel araştırma verileri genellenememekle birlikte görüşme yapılan kişilerin o konudaki görüşleri üzerinden konu ile ilgili fikir vermesi açısından önem arz etmektedir. Bu çalışma verilerinin de suç korkusu ile ilgili görüşme yapılan kadın ve erkek katılımcıların bakış açılarını ortaya koyarak konu ile ilgili çalışma yapacak olanlara ışık tutması beklenmektedir.
A Sociological Perspective on Fear of Crime in Men and Women with Qualitative Research
Crime is an abnormal behavior that has existed since the emergence of man, threatening security, a problem for
anyone who has been a victim or not of a crime. The crime phenomenon, which is inevitable for all societies, has
become an increasing problem with the impact of social changes and accelerates social disintegration, brings
with fear of crime. In this study, it was aimed to reveal the effect of crime phenomenon, crime fear and gender
on crime fear. Semi-structured interviews were made with 10 women and 10 men living in Ankara, and the field
information was tried to be obtained. The women and men in the interview group were asked about their fear of
being exposed to crime. The data obtained were evaluated in the light of theoretical framework; from a
sociological perspective, it is considered important in terms of giving an idea about whether gender has an effect
on the fear of crime. As a result of the research, it was understood that the approaches of women and men to
crime and crime fear are different. Although the qualitative research data cannot be generalized, it is important in
terms of giving opinion about the subject through the opinions of the interviewees. This study data is expected to
shed light on those who will study on the subject by revealing the perspectives of male and female participants
interviewed about crime fear.
