Üniversite Öğrencilerinde Yaşamın Anlamı ile Öz-aşkınlık İlişkisinde Ölüm Anksiyetesinin Aracılık Rolü

Bu araştırma, üniversite öğrencilerinde yaşamın anlamı ile öz-aşkınlık arasındaki ilişkisinde ölüm anksiyetesinin aracılık rolünün araştırılması amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri 29 Mayıs Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bölümler Fakültesi’nden oranlı küme örnekleme yöntemiyle % 95 güven aralığında, ± % 5 örnekleme hatası ile seçilen 326 öğrenciye Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Yaşamın anlamı Ölçeği, Ölüm Anksiyetesi Ölçeği ve Öz-aşkınlık Ölçeği uygulanarak elde edilmiştir. Araştırmanın amacı doğrultusunda ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre öz-aşkınlık ile yaşamın anlamı ve ölüm anksiyetesi arasında çoklu düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu ve ölüm anksiyetesinin yaşamın anlamı ile öz-aşkınlık ilişkisine aracılık rolü yaptığı tespit edilmiştir.
Mediating Role of Death Anxiety in Correlation with The Meaning In Life and Self-Transcendence In the University Students
Purpose: This research was carried out to investigate the mediating role of death anxiety in the relationship
between the meaning of life and self-transcendence in university students. Method: The data of the study were
obtained by applying Personal Information Form, Meaning of Life Scale, Death Anxiety Scale and Selftranscendence Scale to 326 students who were selected from 29 Mayis University Faculty of Economics and
Administrative Department with a 95% confidence interval, with ± 5% sampling error. Relational model was
used for the purpose of the study. Results: According to the findings obtained from the research, there was no
significant difference between the meaning of life, death anxiety and self-transcendence levels and gender, age
and perceived income level. It was found that there was a very significant relationship between selftranscendence and the meaning of life and death anxiety, and the role of death anxiety as mediating the meaning
of life and self-transcendence relationship. In addition, contrary to the research results in the general literature, a
positive relation was found between the meaning of life and death anxiety. Conclusion: The research provides
theoretical and clinical contributions to the releated literature regarding its findings both supporting and not
supporting the existentialist philosophy and psychotherapy literature.
