Online psikoterapi ve danışmanlık özellikle çağımız gelişen dijital dünyasında interneti kullanabilme özelliği olan, telefon, bilgisayar ve benzeri iletişim araçları ile uygulanan bir terapi çeşididir. Dijital dünyanın ve internetin kullanımındaki hızlı artış ile orantılı olarak son dönemlerde popüler olan online terapiler klasik psikoterapi uygulamalarına göre maliyetinin daha uygun olması, gizliliğe önem veren hasta ve danışanlar açısından avantajları, ev ya da seyahatte olunması durumlarında dahi zaman ve mekân açısından getirdiği avantajlar gibi nedenlerle tercih edilmekte ve her geçen gün kullanımı ve çeşitliliği artmaktadır. Bu makalede online terapi hizmetlerinin tanımı, tarihçesi, hangi terapi ve danışmanlık hizmetlerini içerdiği, dünyada ve ülkemizdeki kullanımı, dünya ve ülkemiz ölçeğinde etik ilkeleri, standartları, avantaj ve dezavantajları açısından genel bir bakışın sağlanması amaçlanmıştır. Aynı zamanda uzun yıllardır geleneksel olarak yüz yüze uygulanan klasik psikoterapi ve psikolojik yardım uygulamalarında var olan mesleki standartların ve etik ilkelerin online psikoterapi ve danışmanlık alanına güncel olarak uyarlanmasında önerilerde bulunmak amaçlanmıştır. Günümüzde özellikle bireysel kullanımı artan çağdaş teknolojilerle birlikte, ihtiyaç duyulan ve Covid-19 pandemi döneminde önemi daha da artan online terapi hizmetlerinin ülkemizde yasal mevzuatının, etik ilke ve standartlarının daha fazla netleştirilmesi gerekmektedir.

Online psychotherapy and counseling, in our rapidly developing digital world, refer to the types of therapies which can use internet, and which are applied via smartphones, computers and similar communication gadgets. In addition to the fact that online therapies have gained the popularity with the increasing usage of the digital world and the internet, they also have some advantages against the classic psychotherapy such as lower cost, higher privacy and conveniences about time and place that is provided even from homes or vacations; therefore, they are widely preferred and they grow in both application and diversity. In this article, it is aimed to provide a general information about the online therapies’ definition, history, types and services, application and ethical principles within the Turkey and the World, standards, advantages and disadvantages. Therewithal, this article's another point is to make recommendations about the current adaptations of vocational standards and ethical principles from the classic psychotherapy and consultancy which have been applied face-to-face for a long time to online psychotherapy and consultancy. Today, especially in the Turkey where the demand for online therapy and the usage of internet and technology systems are increasing, even more during the Covid-19 pandemic, the legal regulations, ethical principles and standards of the online therapy services need to be further clarified.
