Amaç: Hemofili kronik, ömür boyu süren bir hastalıktır. Hemofili hastası çocuklar sosyal ve
duygusal sorunlar ile arkadaş ilişkilerinde zorluklar yaşamaktadır. Amacımız çalışmamızda
yaşamının farklı alanlarında kısıtlılık oluşturan bu tıbbî durumun, hemofilili çocuk ve annesinde
yarattığı zorlanma düzeyini belirlemektir.
Yöntem: Türkiye Hemofili Derneği tarafından Hemofili A tanısı ile takip edilmekte olan 7-
16 yaşlar arası 30 erkek çocuk ve aynı yaş grubunda kronik hastalığı olmayan 30 erkek
çocuk ile bu çocukların anneleri incelendi. Çocuklara Çocuklar için Depresyon Ölçeği
(ÇDÖ) ve Çocuklar için Sürekli Kaygı Envanteri uygulandı. Annelere ise Beck depresyon,
Beck anksiyete, Beck ümitsizlik ölçekleri ile Belirti Tarama Listesi 90 uygulandı. Gruplar
kendi aralarında karşılaştırıldı.
Bulgular: Hemofilili çocukların ÇDÖ puan ortalaması kontrol grubu çocuklara göre istatistiksel
olarak anlamlı derecede yüksek bulundu. Hemofilili çocukların anneleri Beck depresyon
ve Beck anksiyete ölçeklerinden kontrol grubuna oranla istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede
yüksek puan aldı. BTL-90 somatizasyon ve hostilite alt ölçek puanları kontrol grubuna
oranla istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede yüksekti.
Tartışma: Annelerin Beck depresyon, Beck anksiyete ve BTL 90 somatizasyon alt ölçeklerinden
kontrol grubuna oranla yüksek puan almaları, var olan kısıtlamanın oluşturduğu
emosyonel tepkiyi açıklama açısından dikkat çekicidir.
Sonuç: Reaktif emosyonel sorunları olan anne babaların mutlaka psikiyatrik konsültasyon
sürecinden geçirilmeleri gerekmektedir Hemofilik çocukların daha depresif bulunması okul
yaşamında ve günlük hayatta maruz kaldıkları kısıtlamalarla ilgili olabilir.

Objective: Hemophilia is a chronic disease lasting a lifetime. Children with hemophilia
experience social and emotional problems leading to troubles considering their relationship
with their peers. Our object in this study is to determine the level of distress over the
child with hemophilia and the mother as a result of this medical condition which gives rise
to restrictions in various areas of life.
Methods: We assessed 30 male patients between ages 7-16 diagnosed and followed by
The Hemophilia Society of Turkey as hemophilia A, 30 healthy male boys of the same age
group and their mothers of both groups. We applied the Depression Scale for Children and
the Trait Anxiety Scale for Children to children. Mothers of children were given Beck Depression
Scale, Beck Anxiety Scale and the Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL 90). Groups were
assessed separately among themselves.
Findings: The Depression Scale for Children average score in children with hemophilia
was found to be significantly higher than the control group. Mothers of children with hemophilia
scored significantly higher on the measures of the Beck Depression Scale, the
Beck Anxiety Scale compared to the mothers of the control group. SCL 90 somatization
and hostility subscale scores were also significantly higher in comparison to the control
group.
Discussion and Conclusion: It is noteworthy of the mothers scoring higher in the depression,
anxiety and somatization subscales compared to the control group for explaining
the emotional reaction created by the present constraint. Parents suffering from reactive
emotional problems should go through psychiatric consultation. Depressive findings of the
hemophiliac children may be related to the restrictions they have been subject to in their
school and daily lives.
