Bu çalışmada, yurt dışında yaşayan 786 Türk göçmenle Türkiye'de yaşayan 106 kişi arasında ruhsal bozukluk geçirme sıklığı araştırıldı. Bu amaçla geçmişe yönelik 18 adet soru içeren bir anket uygulandı, bu çalışmada ruh hastalıklarının şekilleri veya nitelikleri konusunda ayrıntılı bilgi toplamayı değil, sadece ruh hastalığı sıklığını karşılaştırmayı amaçlamıştır. Yurt dışında yaşayan grupta ruh hastalığı geçirme sıklığının istatistiksel olarak anlamlı şekilde daha az olduğu bulundu.

In this study, the occurrence of mental disorders among 786 Turks living abroad and 106 those who live in Turkey was investigated. For this purpose a 18 item retrospective questionnaire was used. This study has just concentrated on the frequency of mental illnesses in both of the investigated groups and has not aimed to differentiate between the mental illness types and their characteristics. The results showed that the immigrant group had experienced mental disorders statistically less frequently than the group living in Turkey.
