Aile; duyguların, düşüncelerin oluştuğu ilk ortamdır. Bu araştırma 6-13 yaş aralığındaki çocukların anne babaların akılcı olmayan inançları ile duygusal şemalarının çocuklarda görülen psikolojik problemler üzerindeki etkisini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma grubunu Bolu ilinde bulunan ruh sağlığı uzmanına başvuran 38 çocuğun anne babası ile herhangi bir uzmana başvurmamış 38 çocuğun anne babası oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada anne babalardaki işlevsel olmayan inançları “Anne Baba Düşünceleri Ölçeği”, duygularıyla ilgili inançları “Leahy Duygusal Şema Ölçeği”, çocuklardaki psikolojik problemlerin varlığı ise “ 4-14 Yaş Çocuk ve Ergenlerdeki Davranış Problemleri Ölçeği” ile değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre; psikolojik problemleri olan çocukların anne babalarının beklentiler, mükemmeliyetçi ve duyguları zarar görme alt ölçek puanları psikolojik problemi olmayan çocukların anne babalarına göre daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Psikolojik problemleri olan çocukların annelerinin beklenti puanları psikolojik problemleri olmayan çocukların annelerine göre psikolojik problemleri olan çocukların babalarının mükemmeliyetçi puanları psikolojik problemleri olmayan çocukların babalarınkine oranla daha yüksek olduğu bulgulanmıştır. Ayrıca beklentilerin duyguları kontrol edilemeyeceği inancı ile, mükemmeliyetçi yaklaşımın akılcılık ve duyguları kabullenme inançlarıyla ile ilişkili olduğunu göstermiştir. Çocuklardaki psikolojik belirtilerin ortaya çıkmasında anne babaların uygun olmayan inanç ve duyguları etkili olmaktadır. Aile içinde öğrendiği inanç ve duyguları ifade şeklini aile dışında ilk defa uygulamaya çalışan çocuğun uyum sağlayamadığı durumlarda psikopatoloji geliştirdiğini düşündürmektedir.

Family; is the first environment in which emotions and thoughts occur. This study aims to investigate the effects of parents’ irrational beliefs and emotional schemas on psychological problems seen in children between the ages of 6-13. The study group consists of the parents of 38 children who applied to a mental health specialist in Bolu and the parents of 38 children who did not apply to any specialist. In the study, the dysfunctional beliefs of the parents were evaluated with the “Parental Thoughts Scale”, their beliefs with their feelings “Leahy Emotional Schema Scale”, and the presence of psychological problems in children with the 4-14 Age Children and Adolescents Behavior Problems Scale”. According to the findings; Parents of children with psychological problems had higher expectations, perfectionism, and feelings of harm injury subscale scores than children without psychological problems. The expectation scores of the mothers of children with psychological problems were found to be higher than the mothers of children without psychological problems, and the fathers’ perfectionist scores of children with psychological problems were higher than those of fathers without psychological problems. Furthermore, with the belief that expectations cannot be controlled, the perfectionist approach is related to rationality and beliefs of accepting emotions. Improper beliefs and feelings of parents are effective in the emergence of psychological symptoms in children. It is suggested that the child who tries to apply the beliefs and emotions expressed in the family for the first time outside the family develops psychopathology when he cannot adapt.
