Bu çalışmada, benlik saygısı ve empati, duygusal zeka, duygusal farkındalık, kaygı, depresyon gibi duygu odaklı ölçeklerin klinik olmayan örneklemde aleksitiminin yordanmasında ne derecede etkili olduklarının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmaya 18-71 yaşları arasında, 321 kadın, 287 erkek olmak üzere 608 kişi katılmıştır. Çalışmada, tüm katılımcılara A Aleksitimi Ölçeği, Duygusal Zeka Ölçeği, A Duygusal Öz Farkındalık Ölçeği-10, Empati Ölçeği, Pozitif ve Negatif Duygu Ölçeği, Hastane Anksiyete ve Depresyon Ölçeği, Durumluk ve Sürekli Kaygı Ölçeği, Coopersmith Benlik Saygısı Envanteri uygulanmıştır. Çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizi kullanılarak aleksitimi puanın yordanmasında diğer ölçeklerin etkisi incelenmiştir. Aleksitimi puanının yordanmasında çoklu R2 değeri tüm grupta 0,593, kadınlarda 0,627, erkeklerde 0,560 bulunmuştur. Aleksitiminin yordanmasında duygusal zekanın, empatinin, duygusal farkındalığın, pozitif ve negatif duygu durumunun, kaygının ve benlik saygısının etkili olduğu görülmüştür. Aleksitiminin “Duygusal” bileşeninin yordanmasında depresyon, durumluk kaygı ve pozitif duygu durumu puanı istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde etkili olmamıştır. Aleksitiminin “Bilişsel” bileşeninin yordanmasında ise anksiyete, benlik saygısı ve negatif duygu durumu puanı istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde etkili olmamıştır. Kadın ve erkek grupları için işlemler ayrı ayrı olacak şekilde tekrarlanmıştır. Yordayıcı değişkenlerde bazı farklılıklar olmakla birlikte genel olarak benzer sonuçlar elde edilmiştir.

In the present study it was aimed to examine the effectiveness of self-esteem and emotion-oriented scales such as empathy, emotional intelligence, emotional self-awareness, anxiety, and depression for predicting alexithymia in a non-clinical sample. A total of 608 people, 321 women and 287 men ranging in age from 18 to 71 participated in the study. In the study, The A Alexithymia Scale, the Emotional Intelligence Scale, the Emotional Self-Awareness Scale, the Empathy Quotient, the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, and the Coopersmith's Self-esteem Inventory were administered to all participants. The effectiveness of the scales in predicting alexithymia score was examined by using multiple regression analysis. Multiple R2 values were determined 0.593 in the whole group, 0.627 in women, and 0.560 in men. Emotional intelligence, empathy, emotional self-awareness, positive and negative affects, anxiety and self-esteem were found to be effective in predicting alexithymia score. Depression, state anxiety and positive affect scores were not statistically significant in predicting the “Affective” component of alexithymia. For prediction of the “Cognitive” component, anxiety, self-esteem and negative affect scores were not been effective at a statistically significant level. Same statistical processes were repeated separately for women and men. Although there were some differences in the predictor variables, similar results were obtained in general.
