Amaç: Bu çalışmada şizofreni tanılı hastaların bakım vericilerine verilen psikoeğitimin bakım vericilerin duygu dışavurumlarına ve hastaların pozitif ve negatif sendrom ölçeği puanlarına olan etkisini belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Çalışmaya psikiyatri polikliniği kayıtlarından elde edilen telefon numaraları üzerinden toplam 107 hasta ve bakım verici çağrılmıştır. Bunlardan 17'sine ulaşılamamış ve 28 hasta ve bakım verici çalışmaya katılmayı reddetmiştir. Araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 62 hasta ve bakım vericisi ile araştırma yürütülmüştür. Kontrol grubunu oluşturan 32 bakıcıdan 2 tanesi takip değerlendirmeleri için bilgi vermeyi reddetmiştir. Hem çalışma hem de kontrol grubunda bulunan hastalar her zamanki gibi tedavi alırken, sadece çalışma grubundaki bakım vericilere bir ay boyunca haftada iki kez toplam sekiz seans psikoeğitim uygulanmıştır. Demografik bilgilerin değerlendirilmesinde yüzdelik, standart sapma ve aritmetik ortalama, ön test-son test değerlendirilmesinde eşleştirilmiş iki grup arasındaki farkların testi ve katılımcıların duygu dışavurumu puanları üzerinde aile eğitiminin etkisini incelemek amacıyla tekrarlayan ölçümlerde varyans analizi uygulanmıştır. Bulgular: Yapılan varyans analizi sonucunda aile üyelerinin duygu dışavurumu puanlarında gözlenen değişime psikoeğitimin orta boyda ve anlamlı düzeyde etkisinin olduğu bulunmuştur (F1.58=20.55; p<0.05; ηp 2=0.265). Yapılan iki yönlü karma varyans analizi sonucunda psikoeğitim alan bakım vericilerin hastalarının takip süresi boyunca, pozitif (ηp 2= 0.57), negatif (ηp 2=0.50), genel psikopatoloji (ηp 2=0.59) ve toplam (ηp 2=0.64) PANSS puanlarında anlamlı bir düşüş olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sonuç: Araştırmada eğitime katılan bakım vericilerin duygu dışavurumu puanlarının azaldığı, herhangi bir müdahalede bulunulmayan kontrol grubundaki bakım vericilerin duygu dışavurumu puanlarının arttığı ve bakım vericilerin bakım verdikleri hastaların PANSS puanlarında azalma olduğu bulunmuştur. Bu nedenle psikoeğitim programlarının günlük psikiyatri kliniği uygulamalarına ve toplum ruh sağlığı merkezi uygulamalarına eklenmesi uygundur.

Objective: IIn this study, it was aimed to determine the effect of the psychoeducation given to the caregivers of patients diagnosed with schizophrenia on the expressed emotion of caregivers and positive and negative syndrome scale of patients. Method: A total of 107 patients and caregivers were invited to the study via phone numbers obtained from psychiatric outpatient clinic records. 17 of these were not reached and 28 patients and caregivers refused to participate in the study. The research was conducted with 62 patients and caregivers who agreed to participate in the study. Two of the 32 caregivers who constituted the control group refused to provide information for follow-up evaluations. While patients in both the study and control groups were treated as usual, eight sessions of psychoeducation were administered to the caregivers in the study group for two semesters, one month. Percentage, standard deviation and arithmetic mean were calculated for evaluation of demographic information. In the pretest-posttest evaluation, the differences between the two matched groups were tested. Repeated measures variance analysis was applied to examine the effect of family education on the participants' expressed emotion scores. Results: As a result of the analysis of variance, it was found that the change in the expressed emotion scores of the family members was moderate and significant effect of psychoeducation (F1.58=20.55; p<0.05; ?p 2=0.265). As a result of two-way mixed variance analysis a significant decrease in positive (?p 2=0.57), negative (?p 2=0.50), general psychopathology (?p 2=0.59) and total (?p 2=0.64) PANSS scores during the follow-up period of psychoeducation caregivers. It is determined to be. Discussion: In this study, it was found that the expressed emotion scores of caregivers who participating in education decreased. On the other hand it was found that the expressed emotion scores of caregivers in the study group increased and PANSS scores of patients who received care were decreased. For this reason, psychoeducation programs should be added to daily psychiatric clinic practices and community mental health center practices.
