Bir Duygusal Zeka Programının İlkokul Öğrencilerinin Duygusal Zeka, Atılgan, Saldırgan ve Çekingen Davranışlarına Etkisinin İncelenmesi

Bu araştırmanın amacı ilkokul 4. Sınıf öğrencileri için hazırlanan duygusal zeka programının
öğrencilerin atılganlık, saldırganlık, çekingenlik ve duygusal zeka düzeyleri üzerindeki etkililiğini
incelemektir. Araştırma, ön test, son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel araştırma modeline göre
düzenlenmiştir. Çalışma grubunu, en düşük duygusal zeka ve atılganlık düzeyine sahip, çekingenlik ve
saldırganlık düzeyi de yüksek olan 39 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Bu öğrencilerden deney grubu 13
öğrenci, plasebo gurubu 13 öğrenci ve kontrol grubu 13 öğrenciden oluşmuştur. Araştırmada, veri
toplama aracı olarak;Bar-On Duygusal Zeka Ölçeği Çocuk ve Ergen Formu (EQ-i (YV), Çocuklarda
Davranış Eğilimi Ölçeği ve öğrencilerin demografik özelliklerini belirlemek amacı ile araştırmacı
tarafından hazırlanan kişisel bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada, Kruskal Wallis H-Testi kullanılarak
deney, kontrol ve plasebo grupları birbirleri ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Mann Whitney U-Testi ile farkın
hangi gruptan kaynaklandığı belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada etkililiği incelenen programın öğrencilerin
duygusal zeka düzeylerini ve atılgan davranışları arttırdığını, saldırgan davranışları ise azalttığını
göstermiştir. Çekingenlik davranış puanları üzerinde ise bir etki olmadığı görülmüştür.
An Investigation of the Effectiveness of Emotional Intelligence, Assertive, Aggressive, Non- assertive Behaviors of Primary School Students
The aim of this study is to examine the effectiveness of ‘Emotional Intelligence Program’
which is prepared for the 4th grade primary school children to reveal the level of their emotional
intelligence, aggressiveness, assertiveness and non-assertiveness degrees.The research under the scope
of this study was conducted on the basis of semi-experimental research model that contains pre-tests
and final tests control groups. The research sample is composed of 39 students whose emotional
intelligence and assertiveness level is on the lowest level while their non-assertiveness and
agresiveness degree is on the highest level. Accordingly, the experimental group of this research is
composed of 13 students, plasebo group is composed of 13 students and control group is composed of
13 students. The data collection scales were Bar-On Emotional Quotient Inventory Youth Version EQ-
i:YV and Children’s Action Tendency Scale.The experiment, control and placebo groups were compared
by using Kruskal Wallis H- Test in the conclusion process of the research.For data analyses; , the Mann
Whitney U-Test was used to be able to determine the fact that which group causes the significant
difference in the study, the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test for Paired Samples was used to compare the
scores within the each group. The result of this study reveal that the Emotional Intelligence Program
increases studenst’ emotional intelligenceand assertive behaviours while decreases their agressive
behaviours. The results of this study also reveal that Emotional Intelligence Program does not have a
positive or negative effect in non- assertiveness behaviour scores.
