Psikolojik danışma ve rehberlik (PDR) lisans eğitiminin üniversitelerimizde yaklaşık 50 yıllık bir geçmişi olmasına rağmen, PDR’nin sistem içerisinde hak ettiği yeri yeterince aldığını söylemek oldukça zordur. Alan çalışanları olarak ileriye yönelik değişimlerin nasıl şekilleneceğini kontrol edebilmek ve söz sahibi olmak da bu noktada oldukça önemli gözükmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, alan çalışanlarının yaşadıkları mesleki problemleri, kendilerini yeterli ve yetersiz hissettikleri alanları, lisans eğitimlerinin niteliğine ilişkin değerlendirmelerini, hizmet içi eğitim faaliyetleri hakkındaki görüşlerini incelemektir. Araştırmaya Samsun ilinde farklı ilçelerde çalışmakta olan 34 kadın, 29 erkek toplam 63 rehber öğretmen katılmıştır. Veriler araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme soruları ile elde edilmiş veriler incelenmiştir. Araştırma bulgularında sorun alanları olarak daha çok; PDR lisans eğitiminde üniversitelerin standardizasyonun olmayışı, görev tanımının net olmayışı, rehber öğretmenlerden ve PDR servislerinden gerçekçi olmayan beklentiler ve Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı (MEB)’nın sistem ve işleyişinden kaynaklanan sorunlar olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.

Although Psychological Guidance and Counselling has a 50 year past in the undergraduate studies of our universities, it is quite difficult to state that it has the right place that it deserves within the system of PGC. The aim of this study is to examine the problems of the members of the Psychological Guidance and Counselling as a profession and to look at the areas where they feel themselves efficient or inefficient, to indicate their evaluations inrelation to do quality of their undergraduate studies, as well as exposing their views about the present in-service trainings. The participants in the survey are in total 63: 34 women and 29 men working in the different districts of the province of Samsun, in Turkey. In the findings of the research, the detected problems have been mainly in the following areas: The lack of standardization in the graduate programs of the universities; the blurred definition of job description; the unrealistic expectations from the guidance counsellor and Psychological Guidance and Counselling services, and the problems arising from the system and the function of the Ministry of Education.
