Günümüz psikoterapi anlayışı tek kişilik terapilerden, terapist ve danışanın birbirini etkilediğini varsayan iki kişilik terapilere doğru evrilmektedir. Bu yaşanan değişim birçok gelişim kuramcısı ve nörobiyolojik araştırmalar tarafından desteklenmektedir. Bu anlayışla birlikte yeni kuramlar ve çalışmalar ortaya çıkmıştır. Bunlar içerisinde en önemlilerinden biri “İlişkisel Psikoterapi” dir. İlişkisel psikoterapi, terapi esnasında danışana en çok etki eden ve iyileştirici olan özelliğin terapistle kurulan güvenilir bir ilişki olduğu ve değişimin danışanla terapistin aynı dala tünemesiyle gerçekleştiği düşüncesi üzerine ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu çalışmada ‘İlişkisel Psikoterapi’ yaklaşımının temel yapısı ve teknikleri açıklanarak kuramın psikoterapiye yansıması hakkında bilgi verilmiştir.

It is fair to say that the current understanding of modern psychotherapy has been transformed from the traditional understanding of single-person approach into the two-person therapies which assume that the therapist and the client are influencing each other in a mutual relationship. This line of change has been supported by particularly in the sense of various neurobiologic studies and development theorists. With these points in mind, it is a known fact that there are many theories and studies have emerged within this context. One of the most important theory among current studies is “the relational psychotherapy”. The Relational Pschotherapy based on the assumption that the most curative and influencial characteristic of the therapy is a trustworthy relationship with the therapist. Within this context, the major assertion is that the change is only possible through a meeting between th e client and the therapist in the same bough on which each side engages as equal participants with the process. In this study, the basic principles and techniques of the relational psychotherapy and its reflections within the psychotherapy is demonstrated.
